The GIPF Project (Below) Games may be played in conjunction with others or as stand alone games.

GIPF: The first in the series & a deceptively simple abstract game . The rules are easy to learn, but as in many games, you will find the strategies challenging. Players take turns adding pieces to the board by moving them from the edge. Create rows of four to capture your opponent’s pieces and and return your pieces to your supply. The game ends when one player has no pieces left to play. His opponent wins! Author: Kris Burm; 2 players aged 10+; 20-30 minutes $25.41
TAMSK: The 2nd game of the GIPF project/series. A 2 player game which is played under permanent time pressure. Players start the game with 3 hourglasses and 32 rings. The hourglasses are the playing pieces; the aim is to get rid of as many rings as possible. Each turn you must move one of your hourglasses and turn it over; next you may play a ring in the newly covered space. The more spaces you visit, the more rings you will be able to play. But watch your hourglasses closely; if one runs out sand, it's lost! This introduces time as a substantial strategic element. This is the only GIPF game that is not designed as a stand alone game. $49.99 $46.19
Zertz: The 3rd in the Gipf project, following Gipf and Tamsk. ZERTZ is played with 5 white, 7 gray, 9 black marbles, and 37 round tiles. The tiles are to be used to assemble the board; the marbles are the pool. Each turn you must place one marble on the board and next remove a free tile. The aim is to capture 3 white, 4 gray, 5 black marbles, or 2 marbles of each color. To capture you jump over another marble. Both players play with the same marbles and the board gets smaller with every move. Author: Kris Burm - 2 players age 12; length: 30 minutes. Best Abstract Game of 2000 by Games Magazine $25.41
Dvonn : The 4th Gipf Game. Again, there are easy rules, but far from simple to master. Dvonn is a stacking game with 49 flat discs/pieces. Players try to control stacks on the board, (all of which must be connected to the red pieces), by several means. The game ends when no more plays are possible. The winner is the player who has the tallest stack, the total height of all their controlled stacks. Author: Kris Burm - 2 players age 12; length: 30 minutes.
Awarded (June of 2002)
Best 2 Player Game of 2001 by The Strategic Gaming Society. Game of Year 2002 by Games Magazine

Yinsh: The 5th GIPF Game. Sometimes you will have the impression that there is nothing but chaos on the board. You line up a few of your pieces and the next thing you notice is that they have changed color! The more pieces on the board, the more difficult it becomes to predict what will happen. But also the more opportunities you have! So do not worry: you will get your chance. Just stay alert, and you will create your own little bit of order in the chaos!
2 players, aged 12 +; length: 30 minutes; author: Kris Burm.

Punct: The 6th and final game GIPF Series or award winning Abstract Strategy games. From the start, designer Kris Burm envisioned 6 games that would each stand on it's own, OR, combine with others in the series with endless "potentials". The project is now complete.
PÜNCT is a connection game: the goal is to link two opposite sites. On your turn, you either bring a new piece into play, or you move a piece that is already on the board. The more pieces you bring into play, the more possibilities you have to make a connection. But… each time you put a new piece on the board, you reveal a bit of what your plan is. The trick is to place your pieces in such a way that your opponent will expect you to do something different from what you really have in mind. As such, PÜNCT is not only about making a connection, but also about misleading your opponent! You’ll have to be subtle!

Marrakech: NEW from the maker of Quarto & Quoridor; the bazaar is bustling: it's the big day of the rug market! Each player is a salesperson that tries to outwit the others. Each player has a turn to throw the dice and then move Assam, the market organizer. If Assam stops on an opponent's rug, the sales person must make a payment to its owner before putting one of his or her own rugs on the adjoining space. When the last rug has been laid, the total number of visible rugs and the number owned by each salesperson are added up: best player wins! Includes game board, 40 wood playing pieces, 6 sided die, 57 fabric tiles, fabric bag and instructions. For 2 to 4 Players. Ages 6 & Up.
Our take: This is Steven Glenn's excellent new game. It has been nominated for the prestigious international Spiel des Jahres Game of the Year 2008 Award. It's easy to learn, plays fast (30 min.), & we had fun playing it! For 2-4, it seemed to work best with three.
$26.96
Royal Parchessi : This is based on the original Selchow & Righter Company version from the late 1800s. Also know as the Royal Game of India, this edition thankfully recalls the classic artwork generally available from 1874 through the late 1980s. The dice cups are back and the pawns are wood too. For 2-4 players, ages 8+ $17.90
Pente is once again available as a roll-up board in the tube! Just like the classic edition of the original game, four sets of beautifully colored stones allow for 2,3, or 4 player games. Drawstring velour bags house each set of glass stones/beads - and the travel tube provides convenient storage for all the components when on the go. Ages 8+, 2-4 players. Includes Rollup Game Board, 4 sets colored stones, rules, 4 velour bags for glass beads.
Our take: The rollup board has a nice feel and is comparable to the one in the original game from 1979. Now included are 4 sets of stones (instead of 2) and some improved rules (there were a few holes in previous editions). To nit pick, we'd prefer the original tube but all in all, this is a very credible Deluxe Edition of a now classic game. And, it's WAY better than the version below.
$22.72
Quarto: An award-winning game! Each of the 16 pieces has 4 different attributes. The aim is to line up 4 pieces which share the same attribute. The problem is you can't choose which piece you're going to play your opponent chooses for you!

Contents: 1 board, 16 wooden pieces, rules
Size: 10.5" x 10.5" x 1.5"
$26.95

Quoridor: The aim is to get your pawn across to the opposite side of the playing board. But should you move your pawn or put up a fence to slow down your opponent? Choices don't come easy in this game of mazes.
2 or 4 players, age 8+
Contents: board, 20 fences, 4 wooden pawns, rules. Size: 10.5" x 10.5" x 1.5"

Rumis: a 3 dimensional strategy game that seems (to us) a simpler version of  Kramer/Kiesling's Pueblo. Each player receives 11 Rumis "stones" of one color. Players begin constructing structures one stone at a time, strategically placing their stones to prevent opponents from having the most visible colored stones. The player with the most stones visible from above wins! Rumis comes with 4 different game boards, a unique custom turntable, 44 wooden Rumis “stones", and instructions. For 2 to 4 players ages 8 and up.

When someone shouts SET, everyone checks to see if they have discovered three cards that form a SET from the twelve laid face up on the table. If correct, they are one point ahead, and dealer lays out three more cards. The search starts again and all play at the same time. SET has two features that particularly stand out:
  • There are NO TURNS so no dead time
  • The age advantage is minimized; it's one of the few games that children will win without the adults "letting up"
  • Although you've probably never heard of it, SET is our best selling game since we started offering it over 27 years ago; tremendous word of mouth & customer satisfaction rating. Winner of 12 BEST GAME Awards!!
  • Ages 6 and up.
